Pre-Season Ovarian Cancer Fundraising Lunch – Oxfords

Dear fellow NDWHA hockey players,

I am seeking your support for Oxfords Hockey’s 5th annual fundraising lunch to raise money for HMRI research into ovarian cancer. We organised the first lunch following the personal struggle of
?former club member Judy Raymond, and the scientific discovery by another member, Dr Nikola Bowden.

This is about a community group of women volunteering and raising money to help all women in the greater community.

ALL money raised on the day stays in the Hunter with HMRI. Oxfords organise the day but do not benefit financially.

Nikola, who works with the Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI), Hunter/New England Health and The University of Newcastle, has published a new genetic test for accurately diagnosing ovarian cancer when it is in both ovaries. All funds raised from our lunch will be donated to HMRI and added to this year’s grants where only people working on ovarian cancer can apply for it.

Each year the event sells out to over 120 ladies and we’re hoping 2016 will be no different!

The event will be held on Saturday 5 March 2016 at Marina Views Function Centre, Wickham NSW. (This is a great pre season event)

We welcome anyone (hockey/non-hockey) who would like to attend.

We are also seeking support in the form of vouchers and prizes to be auctioned and raffled off during the lunch. Please let me know if you are interested in supporting us with any voucher or prize. I will send through an Authority to Fundraise letter from HMRI.
