The passing of Don Harrower

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Don Harrower, Life Member and past President of Tigers Hockey Club.

Don Harrower was a founding member of the Tigers Hockey Club from the merger of the Kahibah-Charlestown and Hamilton Hawkes clubs in 1986.  Don’s time in hockey started long before this as Col Doyle recalls Don being his first coach in 1965!

Don held many roles within the club as a player, coach and administrator, becoming President in 2005 and continued to run the club through to 2009.  Don remained active within the club, as a player till 2012, and as the organiser for the annual end of season trip for men to Coffs Harbour for a weekend of fun and friendly competition against a Brisbane team made up of past and present Tigers hockey players.  Don had been organising this trip since 1992!

Our thoughts are with Michelle and their families during this time.

Don’s Funeral will be held Friday 18th March at James Murray Funeral Directors chapel, Blackall St, Broadmeadow at 2:30pm
