Hunter Academy of Sport Hockey Talent Development Program

The Hunter Academy of Sport (HAS) is now accepting nominations from athletes interested in trialling for a position in the HAS 2016-2017 hockey talent development squad. The HAS hockey program forms an underpinning program for the Hockey NSW Athlete Acceleration Program (AAP) that can see athletes progress through the athlete pathway and be given the support they need to progress to the next level.

2016-2017 HAS program overview
This season’s program will be led by Ben Brown and Sally Schmidt with the program running from October 2016 through to April 2017. The program schedule, key dates, targeted events and costs are yet to be finalised but will become available at the time of squad selection. Nomination and selection trial information
Online applications are now open and need to be submitted by Tuesday 4 October 2016. Those who apply need to attend the selection trial on Saturday 8 October 2016 at Newcastle International Hockey Centre, Broadmeadow. Please note the two time slots: Boys 9-11am; Girls 12-2pm.
Athletes to bring their own equipment, food, water, and sunscreen.

Squad selection/non-selection notification & program orientation
Selection/non-selection notifications will be sent soon after the trial. If successful, the orientation meeting will be held on Saturday October 15 at the University of Newcastle.
