About the Club

Tigers Hockey Club was formed in 1986 by the amalgamation of Kahibah-Charlestown and Newcastle Hawks (formerly Newcastle Police Boys Hockey Club). The club results have been impressive since 1986, consistently winning Junior Premierships, while in the senior grades we have obtained a number of Minor and Major Premierships.

In 1986, our first year of competition as Tigers Hockey Club, we fielded 8 senior men’s and 5 junior boys teams. We now field approximately 6 senior men’s, 6 women’s, 4 juniors boys and 4 juniors girls sides

We are a club committed to helping individuals improve their skills as field hockey players whilst having fun. Our playing structure caters for top grade representation in all three parts of our club i.e.. Men’s, women and juniors. This allows players to progress to the highest standard of hockey available within the Newcastle region, as well as providing for those players participating at a purely recreational level.
