Passing of Jim “Strawb” Stanbury
To all Members,
It is my melancholy task to advise all our Members that our Life Member Jim Stanbury passed away peacefully last evening,
I am advised that Jim`s funeral will be held at the Willows at Warners Bay at 10.00am on Friday 6th and congregate afterwoods at Club Macquarie, 342 Lake Road Argenton
In recognition of his contribution to the sport he loved Jim had been presented with Life Membership of North Hockey, Newcastle Men`s and Newcastle Masters.
Jim`s contribution to Hockey will be long remembered, as a player, a Club supporter, and also for his contribution to Junior Hockey on Saturday Mornings at Smith park and for organising tours around the State for our Junior players.
But mostly he will be remembered as a Gentleman and an enjoyable companion, but mostly as a great friend.
Our thoughts are with Skeet and family.
