Tigers Players recognised for their efforts
Tigers is pleased to announce that we have had a great success with our Junior and Senior representatives over the last couple of weeks with some of our elite Juniors gaining State honours
Congratulations to Jessie Broad who was successful in gaining a State Under 13 indoor position that will be touring to Canberra
over the long weekend. Jessie has played with Tigers since 2010 and is a brave and fearless Goalkeeper that has dominated
C grade juniors recently. Last year Jessie was picked up on the National playing roster by Northern Territory after closely missing out on NSW honours. Hopefully with his recent call up for NSW Indoor he shows what Tiger spirit he has and receives his outdoor honours in 2013
We also congratulate Katie Schimann who has transformed a U15 NSW squad position into a NSW Country position. Katie currently plays both Junior and Senior Womens for Tigers and cemented a well deserved 2nd grade position in her first year of Seniors.
Katie is a fairly dominate and aggressive fullback who has exceptional fitness and a fantastic overhead. She was also picked up on the National roster and played for ACT in the 2011 National Championships after narrowly missing NSW selection
Seth Roach has been playing with Tigers since 2006 and has recently been rewarded for his hard work by being named in the U13 NSW Country team. Seth plays Fullback or Half for the team and is a very talented junior who gives 100% in all areas of his hockey life.
Seth is joined by Jake Wigham Under 15’s who had his 1st year with Tigers in 2012 and Blake Hinton U17’s who hit off with Tigers in 2011. Both Jake & Blake have been rewarded for their hard and enduring efforts with NSW Country jerseys. Both these talented boys are welcomed additions to Tigers hockey club and we thank them & their parents for extra travels.
Katie, Seth, Jake and Blake will all travel to Tamworth on the 2nd and 3rd March to bring home a Country win!!!!
The last of our Junior Representatives who is excelling is Ben Ferguson. Ben recently was named in the Under 18 NSW Indoor team that participated in Launceston, Tasmania. Ben was a crucial part of a dominating NSW team who was victorious in their quest for the title.
Ben has being playing with Tigers for 2 years and is a welcome signing for the Mens Premier League 2013 team.
We go from Juniors to Seniors with Michelle Bisson recently being names in the Over 40’s Australian team that will tour New Zealand in April. Michelle toured England late last year playing in a 6 nations tour where she brought home a Silver medal. Michelle also played in Melbourne were she was a member of the Over 40’s NSW team that desperately attempted to defend their Gold Medal from 2011.
I know you join me is congratulating these players and wishing them well in their journeys through elite representative hockey.
